Light Plant Concord Municipal Light Plant is now exploring the level of interest of our electricity customers in energy generated from renewable sources (green power).

MCAN Massachusetts Climate Action Network (MCAN) is composed of local and statewide groups that have joined together in a cooperative effort to halt the threat of global climate change.

Social Action Council The purpose of the Social Action Council (SAC) at First Parish in Concord is to help members put their faith into action, to foster community both in First Parish and in the world, and to make grants to organizations which actively work towards the principle of a world community with peace, liberty, and justice for all. Green Team Concord is one of the many projects that SAC supports.

CREW Citizens Research and Environmental Watch (CREW) is an all-volunteer, grass roots organization working for a complete cleanup of the toxic, radioactively-contaminated Nuclear Metals/Starmet Corporation property in Concord.

Its mission is to build and serve a worldwide movement of local governments to achieve tangible improvements in global environmental and sustainable development conditions through cumulative local actions.

LEED The LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building Rating System™ is a building rating system based on existing proven technology. It evaluates environmental performance from a "whole building" perspective over a building's life cycle, providing a definitive standard for what constitutes a "green building".

Ecowaters Projects
Ecowaters Projects (formerly Center for Ecological Pollution Prevention) in West Concord provides information about ecological wastewater management solutions, including wastewater recycling and alternative wastewater systems. The web site features books and dates of tours of ecological wastewater systems, including one in Concord. They also provide some information about biodiesel, a fuel option made of vegetable oil, available in Boston and easy to use in diesel vehicles without modifications.

SSNE Sustainable Step New England (SSNE) is group of committed people who were inspired by the potential power of The Natural Step as a tool to advance sustainability in New England.

Sage Farm One of our members, David Bearg, has a wonderful web site about his green home in Concord, Massachusetts, which uses solar energy for heat, light, growing plants, and generating electricity. Take the self-guided tour to view airlocks, a greenhouse, a sun porch, a sun room, a solar-heated woodworking shop, a solar-powered waterfall, and a solar-heated cabin.
